PROJECT

The main aim of the project is to make participants (both students and teachers) familiar with the use of technology in the classroom through exchanging good practice examples and explaining the methodology of ICT supported teaching and learning among the partner schools.

Through teaching better ICT skills and introducing attractive modern tools into learning processes, we aim at improving the quality of education and training, which in return will lead to more engaging and enjoyable lessons and motivated individual-based learning processes that will lead to falling numbers of drop-outs.

In our project computers, laptops, tablets, interactive (white) boards/screens (if available at the school) will be in the centre of our project work by circling the topics.
Leadership, teamwork, reflection, management, presentation, communication and negotiation skills are very important in personal and professional life, but are not sufficiently covered in school curricula. During the project, the children will also learn important things of new technologies for learning and communicating so they can participate in the digital word.

GOALS

  • To promote overcoming the common understanding of ICT tools as toys rather than useful tools.
  • To focus on teaching and developing basic and transversal skills (key competences) in the fields of digital literacy, reading, languages (both native and foreign language), STEM skills.
  • Improving the academic capacity of young people in key skills through effective and enjoyable teaching methods and, thus, preventing early school leaving.
  • Developing methods for personalized teaching and learning for pupils.
  • Raise participants understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.
  • Promoting cooperation, support peer learning and the exchange of experience.
  • Developing existing and/or create new curricula, generate and implement new teaching methods in the participating classes, exchange innovative teaching and learning approaches that lead to better use of ICT in education in our schools.

WORK SCHEDULE

Firstly, we will focus on the presentations of partner schools to get to know:
the system of education in different European countries, the most important school events and festivals, to find out how students develop their hobbies and passions at school, the typical school day of students in different European countries.
The suggested deadline to publish materials by all the participants is the end of February.
The next step of our project will concern the topic “Our ICT classrooms”=IT equipment of the schools: Hardware, software”. We would like to compare the IT equipment in different partner schools and get to know how teachers and students use the ICT tools during different lessons.
The suggested deadline to publish materials by all the participants is the end of May.
We will also focus on the topic “Media literacy”=Examples of good practice= short video sequences”.
We will investigate whether the students use ICT tools in their process of learning and whether they use these ICT tools in an effective way. We would like to present the examples of good practice by using short videos.
The suggested deadline to publish materials by all the participants is the end of June.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Students’ PowerPoint presentations, videos, photo reports, competitions, school events.
  • Raising of participants’ awareness and abilities/competences of using ICT tools and new media in learning process.
